PROFESSOR GARY SCHAJER AND DICI VISIT AT SINT TECHNOLOGY

On Monday, May 12, we at SINT Technology, had the pleasure to host Professor Gary Schajer, from University of British Columbia, at our headquarters in Calenzano. The meeting was held with the support of Professor Marco Beghini and Professor Ciro Santus from DICI, University of Pisa.

Gary Schajer is the reference professor at world level in the field of residual stress analysis. His full commitment to this field along with his long-standing experience with different methods (in particular, mechanical and optical techniques) led to the publication of the ASTM E837 standard. This is the most important standard in the world related to the residual stress measurements by the hole drilling method.

During the event, Alessio Benincasa, Sales & General Services Director of SINT Technology, and our engineering department, were able to share their thoughts and expertise about the recent advancements and the next steps in the residual stress analysis field, mainly connected with the tests on polymeric materials and with the recent optical techniques.

We would like to expressly thank DICI for enabling this meeting, which proved to be a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and strengthen the partnership between us and the University itself.
