High speed control and acquisition system installed on oil filter test bench
From the collaboration between SINT Technology S.R.L and Filters S.p.A it was realized an innovative system for the automated management of an oil filter test bench: the Blue Edge system.
Unlike traditional PLC-based static control systems, Blue Edge is based on NI cRio hardware with 50 KHz acquisition cards that allow the detection of very fast transients not visible with traditional systems.
The test bench is also equipped with a particular probe developed by SINT Technology which is able to measure the electric charge dispersed in the oil. This feature allows the analysis of dangerous electrostatic discharges that occur in oil circuits (ESD), providing valuable support for the development of new generation of filters.
Filters S.p.A. is already using the system successfully for the validation of some mathematical models.
